This particular coffee is called Tanzania "Tumaini", which means "hope" in Swahili. Located in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Africa Plantation includes Kilimanjaro
(APK) Estate in Tanzania 7 farms. These farms have long-term lease agreements with 6 rural cooperatives, which own the land and provide the main labor force in the area. Thanks to intercropping, shade and irrigation systems, the 1,347 hectares are planted with Arabica coffee, maize (imported seeds for food security and nutrition), green beans, sunhemp and sunflowers. Much of the land consists of forests and production infrastructure. Regenerative agriculture is achieved by combining perennial Arabica coffee crops with short-cycle, nutritious crops that stabilize soils, water resources and biodiversity, while optimizing land use and ensuring employment for local communities.
